Deep Fryer Incident

This took place in 102.

Helen Flynn was sent on an undercover operation with Tom Quinn. Unfortunately her cover was blown and as a result, she was tortured by Robert Osborne who put her hand into a vat of hot boiling oil; when Tom Quinn refused to give up information demanded by Osborne, he plunged Helen's entire head into the oil and then finished her off with a bullet.

This is the incident that established Spooks as a TV programme which is not afraid to kill off one of its main characters.
